Alumni New Year get-together 2009

The Hamburg Alumni celebrated the new year 2010 together in Shanghai.
It has almost become a tradition that returning students connected to Hamburg and young people get together to celebrate the new year in December
18th Dec, the beautiful villa of 1930’s at Ruijin Hotel was full of these pleasant young people. Because of space limitation, only 120 alumni who had early applied for the event could participate. With the host of German Returning Expert Program, together with Hamburg-China Alumni Network/ Hamburg Liaison Office, the get-together started at 7 o’clock.. People have the chance to meet with their old and new friends.

2010,the year of EXPO, is a meaningful year for China as well as for Hamburg. Hamburg will participate in EXPO 2010 with its highly advanced exhibiting case Hamburg House which is the only permanent German Pavilion of the EXPO. The colleague from Hamburg Liaison Office made a wonderful presentation of the Hamburg House so that people were acknowledged of it before EXPO. Hamburg has called for volunteers for the Hamburg House in 2010, the Hamburg alumni played an active role in it. Several students extra return from Hamburg to Shanghai to support this expo project.

Mr. Gu Chun was the luckiest guy of the night, because he was the winner of the lucky draw and won 2 tickets of the EXPO which were provided by Hamburg Liaison Office. He said it was his first time to attend an alumni event and felt very lucky and very happy!

In this splendid year 2010, Hamburg Alumni Network will continue to provide a platform for all Hamburg-China alumni with networking, events and even working opportunities.
We are also looking forward to cooperating with all the partners together to organize more events for the alumni from Hamburg and China.
